The 2025-26 Premiership Women's Rugby season will start on the weekend of 25-26 October, four weeks after the Rugby World Cup Final is played at Allianz Stadium. The PWR Cup will also return after a year's hiatus, with Saracens looking to defend their title. The cup competition will run prior to the start of the PWR league campaign, kicking off in mid-August, with the final scheduled to take place 11-12th October, before the league campaign begins a fortnight later.

It took just four minutes for Saracens to get off the mark, as Player of the Match Poppy Cleall picked off the base of the ruck and offloaded inside to Leanne Infante who darted over for the first off the match. Minutes later, Sarries were in again in a breathless contest after a flowing backs move saw Packer come away with the ball and race in from 50m for her first of the match, to mark her century of appearances in perfect fashion.

The Sporting Roots project, supported by lead partner SBHL and further supported by Islamic Relief UK, works with refugees and asylum seekers who are temporarily housed in hotels in the local area. The Foundation currently works with 6 hotels, where there are 221 children ranging from 1 month old to 17 years of age. This Christmas, we set up a giving tree that Saracens Head Office staff could take a label and buy a present for one of the children in our Sporting Roots hotels.

Saracens Bell Lane in Hendon is the first primary school to join Saracens Multi Academy Trust. During October each class at the community- serving school learnt about a different historical figure, such as Martin Luther King and Lewis Latimer. The children - in new red jumpers with the familiar crescent and star symbol - confidently presented these inspirational figures during assembly.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, the Foundation runs football sessions at StoneX Stadium for our participants, encouraging them to get outside, get active and meet other residents of the hotels. For many of our participants, these football sessions are the only time that residents of the hotels are able to get active outside as the only outdoor space within the hotel properties are the car parks.

In incredibly challenging conditions for both sides, Saracens started at a real speed, scoring three tries in the opening 15 minutes and Austerberry was thrilled with the intensity that his side had played at, despite the conditions making things more difficult as the game went on. “It wasn’t a glorious game of rugby, but the first 20 minutes especially were outstanding. I thought we captured the game early on. It was a fantastic start.
