The design vocabulary of the 1970s has distinct features – think a certain modernism in action, the tactility of coarse textures, and soft geometric layouts. The decade lends itself as reference for the Supermoon seating system designed by Los Angeles-based interior designer Giampiero Tagliaferri for Italian luxury furniture brand Minotti. Unveiled during Salone del Mobile 2024, the “nomadic” Supermoon caught attention for its modular features and past-meets-present look.

Usually associated with monotonous in its ‘boring’ sense, the word ‘monochrome’ conforms to textural similitudes at this house in Tamil Nadu. Designed by Cubism Architects & Interiors, the Grey House is an amalgamation of a single colour into a host of appearances which highlight different elements within the house. Guided by the client’s brief for a “dark-themed house in shades of grey”, juxtaposition is one of the core principles within the design strategy of the house.
