When I began to read commentaries and reviews (in the few media venues that I still trust) of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch’s new book (with the co-author being one of his law clerks), I became very interested in reading the book. The title resonated with a theme I’ve been writing about for several years: the baneful effects of too many criminal laws and regulations, many of them hopelessly complex and vague — essentially traps for those unaware.
