Modalen hadde stort utbytte av vasskraftutbygginga på 1970-talet, der mellom anna vegforbinding og styrka kommuneøkonomi vart utbyttet av langt mindre naturinngrep enn det dagens utbyggar Norsk Vind no prøver å få igjennom. Den gongen stod bygda nokså samla for utbygging. Denne gongen er byteforholdet mellom økonomisk gevinst og naturtap eit anna, og bygda er splitta.

Det kan bli det første steget mot ei industriell utbygging av dette fjellområdet med nærare 100 vindturbinar og rundt ti mil med tilkomstvegar, samt oppstillingsplassar på tre mål for kvar turbin. Norsk Vind prøver iherdig å utelukka andre interesserte partar frå avgjerdsprosessen enn modølingane sjølve. Sjølvsagt er modølingane dei som er tettast på.

BEIJING – Although French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent Summit for a New Global Financing Pact produced a “roadmap” toward reforming the global financial system, the proposed reforms are unlikely to mobilize private capital at the scale required to mitigate climate change. A key reason for this is that the roadmap largely fails to address the barriers that prevent pension funds and other large institutional investors from joining forces with multilateral development banks (MDBs).
