BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A woman is facing drug delivery resulting in death charges after a man was found dead in Altoona. Williams, photo provided by Blair County Prison Cassandra Williams, 43, was charged after police were called to an apartment building on reports of an unresponsive man March 22. When officers arrived, they found the victim slouched over at the doorstep to one of the apartments.

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Philipsburg man is facing felony charges after police said he broke into and ransacked two different stores. Shawn Bumbarger, 40, was charged after Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) were called to a convenience store in Chester Hill Borough May 8. When troopers arrived, a worker showed them a broken door that led to the inside of the store.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — State Representative Frank Burns announced that Cambria County had misprinted its ballots for the upcoming primary election, something he called “incompetence.”Burns reported that he received a call from the Pennsylvania Department of State Secretary Al Schmidt, who told the Representative that the ballots had been misprinted despite assurances from county officials that corrective measures were put into place after the Nov. 5 election ballot issues.

The bills, introduced by Michele Brooks (R-Lawrence, Mercer), focus on firefighter and EMT training. Brooks highlighted that in some cases, there is a lack of training credits that are allowed to go towards being certified.

PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) — A Pennsylvania Representative announced plans for legislation that would expand the charges that qualify a defendant for the death penalty. The legislation, introduced by Rep. Zachary Mako (R-Lehigh/Northampton), was named “Jessica’s Law,” after Jessica Padgett, who was shot in the back of her head by her step-father, Gregory Graf in 2014. He then sexually abused her corpse while using two video cameras to record his actions, according to the bill.
