Early Sunday morning, law enforcement was called to the area of Vernon Place and East New Haven Avenue in Melbourne. It's where they found 19-year-old Nathaniel Bernard Jennings, shot. He didn't survive. "Saturday, he left here with his cousin, and he told me, 'Ma, I'll be back later, I love you... and he walked out the door," Jennings mom, Autum Minick, said of the last time she saw her son. Sanford police have released new surveillance video of a drive-by shooting in Sanford from April 2024. The shooting happened on Scott Drive, and the video shows people running and ducking as a red SUV passes by, firing shots. For people living on the street, it's hard to forget what they saw that day. Police announce second arrest in deadly Curry Ford Road shooting

Orlando Police this week announced a second arrest in a deadly shooting that took place back in March. On March 15th, Luis Vicente-Martinez was found shot dead inside a van in a shopping plaza on Curry Ford Road. Police believe it was a robbery. Orlando Police said they identified Gabriel Joel Bruno De Leon as a suspect and believed he had fled to Puerto Rico. On April 11th, he was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security, and the San Juan Extradition Unit.
Central Florida interchange to see improved traffic flow by 2027

The Sand Lake Road and Interstate 4 interchange is one of Central Florida's busiest. About 102,000 cars pass through there daily. On March 9, 2024, the interchange was changed to a diverging diamond configuration. It was a move not all drivers have appreciated. "It's terrible. It's terrible. It's like a figure eight here, and you can't get around," said Cody Linebaugh. But other drivers said they like the change to a diverging diamond.
