Hailing from Derby, From Her Ashes describe themselves as “progressive metalcore” mixing melodic elements with heavy, technical riffs – “In Depths” follows on from their previous singles “Nemesis” and “The Swan and The Serpent”, as well as two EP’s. The beginning is a mix of sound effects, almost like a distant siren, with some heavy drumming and guitar – wasting no time showing the listener what they’re about.

Dubbed the “South Yorkshire Springsteen” – Sam Scherdel, hailing from Doncaster, has fast been impressing many people up and down the UK and beyond. The beginning of 2025 saw him release his latest EP – “Meet Me on the Moon” – with a colourful splash of burnt orange donning the moon in the palm of his hand – since then Scherdel has had a string of successful shows and is set to perform at some festivals this year, including hometown festival DonnyFest and Humber Street Sesh in Hull.
