Purpose, the epic family drama by Tony Award-winning Appropriate playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, adds eight weeks to its limited Broadway engagement at the Hayes Theater. Performances will now run through August 31 beyond its originally scheduled closing date of July 6. The show began previews February 25 and opened March 17.

Jordan Donica will join the Broadway cast of Sunset Boulevardas Max von Mayerling, the role currently played by Olivier Award winner David Thaxton. Donica begins performances on June 10 after Thaxton plays his final performance on June 8. The production runs at the St. James Theatre through July 13. Donica earned a Tony nomination for his performance as Lancelot in the 2023 revival of Camelot. His Broadway credits also include The Phantom of the Opera and My Fair Lady.

Pen Pals, written by Michael Griffo and directed by SuzAnne Barabas, will return to the stage this summer at DR2 for a strictly limited engagement, a follow-up to its off-Broadway premiere at the Theatre at St. Clements in 2024. Performances will run from August 15 through November 23, featuring a rotating cast.
