Beloved New Zealand actress Marise Wipani has died on her 61st birthday. She is treasured for her roles in the television universe that encompasses Xena: Warrior Princess, and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. She was also a popular presenter on NZ television, and worked on movies including the 1985 adventure comedy, Came a Hot Friday. “Marise passed peacefully today on her 61st birthday surrounded by family and friends,” a statement shared on her Facebook page said.

The discovery of a body in a Northern Rivers home led NSW Police to make a drug bust on Friday. A 37-year-old man was found unresponsive and died in the home on James St at Dunoon, 12-minutes north of Lismore, at about 9am. A commercial quantity of prohibited drugs was also found when emergency services arrived at the scene, police said. A shooting incident has prompted a homicide investigation in NSW on Monday. The victim was found injured on Connorton Ave at Ashmont, a suburb in the southwest of Wagga Wagga, at about 3am. The shooting is believed to have occurred outside as the result of an altercation, police said. Police are looking for a knife-wielding passenger following the armed robbery of an Uber driver last week. The man reportedly got into the rideshare car which was parked outside strip club Wanderlust in Mitchell, one of the two Canberra areas where brothels are allowed to operate in the ACT, at about 12.20am last Monday. He approached the car and asked if the driver would do a cash job — offering a fake ID to the driver to guarantee his trip, police said.

The victim of a stabbing attack has been rushed to hospital and is fighting for his life.
