General manager Trent Baalke has to go. Khan finally made the move fans have clamored for, firing Baalke Wednesday afternoon.

Remember, when the Jaguars were 8-3 last season in prime position to defend the AFC South crown Pederson won in his first season as coach? That feels like years ago and an outcome Pederson could never again deliver. A 52-6 loss to Detroit on Nov. 17 that dropped the Jaguars to 3-14 since that surge probably sealed Pederson’s fate.

Led by rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr., the Jaguars earned their fourth win of the season on Sunday defeating the visiting Tennessee Titans 20-13 at EverBank Stadium. Thomas had seven catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. He continues his torrid play, moving to 80 catches for 1,179 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Improving to a measly 4-12 doesn’t change anything.

Of the Jaguars’ four top receiving threats entering the season, only the rookie remains. Surely, a good defense like the Jets (fourth in yards allowed entering the game) would put enough resources into stopping Thomas that Jaguars quarterback Mac Jones would have to look elsewhere. Nope.

They probably ruined Titans quarterback Will Levis’ chances of a long-term hold on his position. The Jaguars defense frustrated and battered Levis in a 10-6 victory at Nissan Stadium. The second-year veteran never got going, completing 19 of 32 passes for 168 yards with no touchdowns. He ran once for 3 yards.

By Hays CarlyonThere’s wrath. And then there’s DUUUVAL wrath. Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair deserves all of it. Al-Shaair did his best to end Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s season and potentially his career on Sunday. He launched himself into a sliding Lawrence making sure to throw his forearm into Lawrence’s head. The illegal hit easily could’ve been avoided. Lawrence started his slide at the Houston 46-yard line. Al-Shaair was just crossing the 42-yard line.

The Jaguars are 1-5. They are four games back of AFC South leader Houston. The Jaguars still play Green Bay, at Philadelphia, Minnesota, at Detroit and Houston. Those five teams are a combined 21-6.
