To commemorate Singapore's 60th year of independence, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is partnering with various filmmakers, organisations and content creators to produce stories and exhibitions highlighting the Singaporean experience. Some of the initiatives have already been released to great fanfare. Singapore Changi Airport has reclaimed the title of world's best airport in 2025, following its runner-up position last year. The airport received the honour at this year's World Airport Awards, held in Madrid on Wednesday (Apr 9). This marks the 13th time that Singapore Changi Airport has been named world's best airport by UK–based consultancy Skytrax which organises the World Airport Awards. In second place is Doha's Hamad International Airport while Tokyo Haneda Airport came in third.

It was reported on Monday (Apr 7) that researchers at the American biotechnology company Colossal Biosciences successfully genetically engineered wolf puppies to resemble the long-extinct dire wolves. These ‘de-extincted dire wolves' possess white fur and were created with the help of ancient DNA obtained from fossilised remains of actual dire wolves. Scientists had taken blood cells from a living grey wolf and genetically modified them in 20 different sites.
