"I absolutely dreaded having a new teacher. I'd brace myself during registration for them to hesitate when they got to my name, before attempting Diana, Danya, or even Diner. There was always a lot of laughter. "I don't have a middle name, but when I was a teenager, I gave myself the middle name Alicia, in the hope people might use that instead. It wasn't very successful.
