Proposal #2 on this year’s annual meeting ballot seeks member approval for the Board of Directors to use ERA funds “to pursue and implement a repayment plan” in the case.

By Heather MichonCorrespondentA police pursuit that began in Fluvanna County ended in a crash in Charlottesville on Wednesday evening (May 28). Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Thomas Custer said the incident began when FCSO deputies attempted to arrest Cedric Flood, 34, on outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions. Flood fled the scene in a 2024 Honda, sparking a pursuit that extended from Fluvanna into Albemarle County, and finally, into Charlottesville.

With unseasonably low temperatures and a steady breeze to keep them cool and collected under their caps and gowns, the Fluvanna County High School class of 2025 filed onto the football field Friday (May 23) to cheers and the occasional blast of an air horn from the packed bleachers. “Today, we gather not just to celebrate a moment, but to honor a journey,” said FCHS Principal Margo Bruce in her opening remarks.

By Heather MichonCorrespondentThe Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors approved a special use permit for a specialty gun and archery shop at its meeting on Wednesday (May 21). Brecht Sprouse wants to open a retail shop on North Boston Road (Rt. 600), focusing on hunting, fishing, and archery. He has owned a similar business in Albemarle County for many years. The space will include an indoor archery range, but firearms will not be discharged on the property.
