Grasping at straws here—but maybe the fact that Burgum is an avid bow hunter means he'll use his DOI post to protect ungulate migrations and winter range? Sec Order 3362 was about the only half-decent thing Zinke ever did; perhaps there's an opportunity to continue that work.

Will be interesting to see if Interior gets more aggressive on geothermal -- or CCS for that matter -- on public lands.

Wright at Energy and Burgum at Interior is bullish for oil/gas production and exports, but it's also a fairly positive for CCS and geothermal. That's not nothing.

I've seen a lot of this re Burgum, especially in contrast to some of the president elect's other cabinet picks and despite cont. concern about Trump's energy agenda. Burgum's got management experience as a gov, which is maybe not unlike shepherding a large agency like Interior.
