Embezzlement, extortion, a non-existent graphic novel and Michael Bay: this one has it all. David Ozer, a producer who was formerly president of IDW Entertainment, has been sentenced to 18 month in prison after being convicted of fraud and embezzlement. Ozer pled guilty to two counts of embezzling funds meant for production of two separate television productions, THR reports.

Formerly the events manager for DC Comics, he launched Fletch Forward Event Solutions in 2021 to handle some of the biggest booths at SDCC, NYCC and beyond. In one of the most stunning recent award wins for a graphic novel, Tessa Hulls’ Feeding Ghosts (MBD) has won the Pulitzer Prize in the Memoir or Autobiography category. It is only the second graphic novel to won a Pulitzer….but the first to win in a regular category. In 1992 Art Spiegelman’s Maus won a special Pulitzer award to recognize its powerful message.
