AnAustralian traveller says poor conditions made for a scarydrive over the road where two buses rolled on State Highway8 in the Mackenzie District this morning. Fifteenpeople have been taken to hospital by St John after thesingle-vehicle crashes occurred 100 metres apart on theTekapo-Twizel Highway about 8.40am on Thursday, policesaid. That includes seven from the scene of the crash,including two people in a serious condition, two in amoderate condition and three with minorinjuries.

Police are asking for the public’s help after a recentincident in Napier where shots were fired towards anaddress. Officers were called to Clarence Cox Crescentabout 8.10pm on 30 June after a report of gunshotsheard. An unoccupied vehicle was found to havesustained damage. Enquiries into the incident areongoing.
