    I’ve recently been reminded of my time on MasterChef many years ago, a show where “celebrity” contestants have to be able to fillet a fish at a moment’s notice, without ego or wanting special attention. A bit of respect is always welcome, but not a given. I should know. As a comedian I would usually turn up to TV jobs in a cheery fashion and look forward to having a bit of banter.

    The 60th Venice Biennale kicked off this week with a celebration of the more than 100 artists from around the world participating in the prestigious exhibition, titled “Stranieri Ovunque”—Foreigners Everywhere. Adriano Pedrosa, Biennale artistic director, hosted welcome festivities at La Caravella, and the intergenerational attendees included artists Samia Halaby, Lauren Halsey, Lydia Ourahmane, and Kim Yun Shin; as well as preeminent patrons Pamela Joyner and Fred Giuffrida.
