    It’s time for a whole lot of “Emma Crawfords” to get back in their coffins and race the streets of Manitou Springs.  The 29th annual Emma Crawford Coffin Races & Parade — huge crowds and creative/creepy costumes — hits Manitou Springs on Saturday, Oct. 28. The hearse and coffin parade kicks off at noon, immediately followed by the coffin races. Why the Emma Crawfords?

    Will it be candy? Will it be coal? Across the nation, retailers aren’t sure what to expect from customers this holiday season. Inflation has cooled, some supply issues have eased and the economy’s expanding — but consumers are still hurting from recent rollercoaster years, and that spells uncertainty for the all-important spending season ahead. Colorado Springs retailers are also wishing for a clearer picture.
