PRECIS-2 assessmentThe trial design was retrospectively assessed using the PRECIS-2 tool27 by the study steering group in December 2018. The allocated scores were plotted in a PRECIS-2 wheel (which is similar to a radar or spider chart) showing that the study was scored 4–5 in all nine domains (1=very explanatory and 5=very pragmatic) (online supplemental figure 1; online supplemental table 4).
