A major London authority has been forced to remove its Low Traffic Neighbourhood after a High Court ruling found it to be unlawful for residents and drivers. Lambeth Council revealed that it has been ordered to remove the controversial traffic measure "as soon as it can be done safely," marking a victory for motorists. Reports suggest the council must now pay £35,000 in legal fees to campaigners who successfully challenged the controversial traffic restrictions.

Motorists have been fined millions for failing to adhere to lower speed limits introduced across a popular region in the South West of England. Dorset Council lowered the speed limit on a major road in Dorset to 30mph from 40mph in 2023, with drivers still getting caught out by the change two years later. According to new data, the speed limit change led to a 36,000 per cent increase in the number of penalty notices issued to drivers.

Petrol and diesel drivers have been warned they could face sharp increases in parking prices across Reading under new plans. Reading Borough Council revealed that it is currently looking at introducing emission-based parking measures, which will see petrol and diesel car owners pay more for the same parking spots as electric vehicle drivers.
