Introduction Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is considered one of the gold standard treatments for end-stage knee osteoarthritis.1 Intraoperative blood loss especially in the procedure of bone cut and soft tissue release in TKA has been an intractable challenge for joint surgeons. In order to reduce intraoperative blood loss and improve view of surgical field, pneumatic tourniquet is widely used in TKA.2 However, the application of tourniquet in TKA is still controversial.
