    William Grant & Sons has partnered its gin brand Silent Pool with Ascot Racecourse and Royal Ascot festival in the UK. The brand, which is distilled in the southern English county of Surrey, will assume ‘official supplier’ status and be served at racing fixtures and events throughout the year. The racecourse, also in the south of England, will have a Silent Pool-branded bar in its grandstand as well as at other selected locations around the venue.

    Carlsberg has unveiled a limited-edition, alcohol-free beer in Sweden that has been transported entirely by electric-powered freight. ‘Electric Beer’ comes as a result of Carlsberg’s partnership with transport company Einride that began in 2022 and will roll out to Sweden later this year. The fresh release, which is available to Swedish consumers, is made using “100% renewable energy and is moved and packed by autonomous and electric conveyor belts, forklifts and packing robots”.

    African Originals, the Kenyan gin and cider business, has become certified as a B Corp company, claiming to be the first of its kind in Africa. The Nairobi-based cider and spirits company becomes Africa’s 81st B Corp – the certification from B Lab for companies meeting certain ESG standards – joining the likes of South African craft wine producer Lubanzi Wines. African Originals said its “impact business model and variety of stakeholder-first commitments” helped it achieve the status.
