A mother from Surrey has shared her distressing experience of being detained for over seven hours by police after being accused of stealing two iPads. Fifty-year-old Vanessa Brown was taken into custody by officers from Surrey Police when the electronic devices were tracked to her mother's residence in Cobham. The misunderstanding was later cleared up when it became apparent that the iPads were her daughters' and she had taken them away to encourage their concentration on school assignments.
