The Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA) has sounded the alarm over the rising threat of book piracy in the country. The Publishers called during a press conference to mark World Book and Copyright Day 2025. World Book and Copyright Day is a day set aside to celebrate and promote the enjoyment of books and reading, and to recognise the capability of the book as a bridge between the past, present and future, a link between different generations and across cultures.

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) would begin on April 24 and not April 25 as earlier announced. JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in Abuja yesterday. He said the adjustment was to accommodate essential commitments by the board and its partner agencies. Benjamin said prospective candidates could now print their notification slips which contain vital information regarding their examination details.
