The family of missing Perth teenager Richard Tu has made an emotional appeal for him to contact them and come home, a week since he disappeared. The 17-year-old has been missing since Monday March 31, but police do not suspect foul play at this stage. He was last seen getting off bus 529 in Armadale on Armadale Road, just after Seville Drive, at 9:15pm after boarding in Cockburn at around 9pm.

Janine Louise Denny has been charged with murder after a man was found dead in a burnt-out car on December 6. The 45-year-old woman was also charged with attempted murder and stealing a motor vehicle. The woman has appeared in Perth Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody. Perth's maximum temperature tipped over 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the first time it has eclipsed that mark since February. The city's average December maximum is 29.5C with the record being 44.2C on Boxing Day 2007. Temperatures are predicted to be a little cooler in the metro area tomorrow, with a top of 35C expected. Perth is experiencing its first heatwave of the summer, as the city surpassed 40 degrees Celsius for the first time since February.

An Indigenous leader in WA says participants in a program encouraging at-risk youth to stay away from crime were left "disturbed" when police arrived and arrested three teenagers in front of the group. The boys have been charged with several aggravated burglary and stealing charges, and police say body-worn camera footage of the arrest showed calm, respectful interactions.
