    I’ve always loved reading, but I didn’t come across medieval women’s writing until my second year of university. I remember being surprised that there were any female writers from the period at all (you almost never hear about them) and getting completely absorbed by their words. I spent hours trying to imagine what their lives might have been like. On the one hand, their world felt so different to my own, very far away, and strange.
