Steven Spielberg wanted Ivy Lynn to die. Okay, that’s dramatic. But so is Smash, the failed TV series about the making of a Broadway show (produced by Spielberg) turned actual Broadway show (still produced by Spielberg). The original Smash, which ran on NBC from 2012 to 2013, was a dud with everyone but the devoted cohort who tuned in specifically to make fun of it.

Do we really need a full slate of summer 2025 TV shows when we already have a new season of And Just Like That… to look forward to? (An early contender for the best TV show of 2025, period!) Possibly not—but it can’t hurt to diversify. This year, warmer weather will bring the return of not just Carrie Bradshaw, but Wednesday Adams and Carmy Berzatto as well.
