When you start Revenge of the Savage Planet, you might think you're in for a wonderful jaunt across a series of newfound planets, all in hopes of making them hospitable for human life. That is, of course, until you're fired from your workplace after 100 years in cryosleep and deprived of all the gear you need.

Imagine your job guarantees you the option to explore a whole new world, all expenses paid, and you get to be the one to make sure it's hospitable for human life? And then imagine, after 100 years of travel in cryosleep, they actually lay you off because costs are rising just a bit too much. On top of the many other issues, you now have bountiful free time.

In Revenge of the Savage Planet, you are forced to come to terms with the harshest thing that humanity has ever faced - corporations. Emboldened by the number of smaller companies that they have consolidated, you are laid off from your job as soon as it starts in this new star system, and you're left to your own devices. Related And in that time, Slappi just loves to offer you challenges to keep you occupied. It wouldn't do to be bored.

In Revenge of the Savage Planet, you spend 100 years in cryosleep, drifting through space until you arrive on the planet of Stellaris Prime. Beautiful and untamed, it is your job to make it more suitable for human life. Or at least it was, until you were laid off. Now it's your job to find a way home and punish the corporation who ruined your life.

A lot of games want you to admire them. Take your time, absorb the sights, let yourself be immersed. It's nice to see the detail put into all these fictional worlds. It helps to make them feel lived in. But for some games, having the freedom to run around willy-nilly without any semblance of time doesn't always make sense.

I’m just one of so many incredible writers here, but I’m delighted to have gotten the chance to write about Umurangi Genervation VR for it. And a special thank you to @diegoarguello66 for asking me in the first place ❤️
