INTRODUCTION Vitamin D is a steroid hormone that has a significant regulatory role in bone mineralisation, calcium absorption and immune response activation (Lv et al., 2020; Rozmus et al., 2020). Vitamin D, with a circulatory form of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D), is essential for the health and development of infants and children.
