AbstractLong-term monitoring of biomedical signals is crucial for modern clinical treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy. Encoding epileptic seizures with partial synchronization using a spiking neural network (SNN) offers a promising avenue as such networks can be implemented on ultra-low-power neuromorphic processors.

Hiroyuki Ito designed the apartments with an open structure, optimizing the upper and lower spaces radially thanks to the fact that their connection is made by means of a ladder, which allows the vertical communication space to be reduced to its minimum. The interior finishes leave the walls and slabs in their structural finish of exposed concrete. Regarding the façade, the composition of the windows is organized differently for each floor, responding to both security and aesthetic factors.

Project description by Hiroyuki Ito ArchitectsThe site is located along the approach to a renowned shrine and on the edge of a plateau in Yushima, Tokyo. In recent years, numerous hotels in the area have been replaced by apartment complexes, resulting from a rapid transformation of the area’s character. Two complexities of the site have been significant factors for the design–the shape of the plot and the lighting conditions resulting from high-rise buildings surrounding it from three directions.
