MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - Construction on the Reunion Parkway Project Bridge over I-55 will cause lane closures this summer. According to Madison County Engineer Tim Bryan, Hemphill Construction crews will be hanging girders for the future bridge, which would connect Bozeman Road to Highway 51. Between June 16 to June 20, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., traffic will be paused and reopened in 30-minute intervals.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Mississippi State baseball narrowly clinched victory over Northeastern in the Tallahassee Regional, punching their ticket to the championship game against Florida State. The No. 3 seed Bulldogs took on the No. 2 seed Northeastern in an NCAA tournament elimination game this morning, walking away with a 3-2 win. Mississippi State must now beat No. 1 Florida State two more times in the regional to move on to Super Regionals next week.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - One person is in custody after a man was shot and killed in Jackson. According to the Jackson Police Department, 46-year-old Robert Lewis Harris was found shot to death in the 4000 block of Hanging Moss Road on Saturday. During the initial investigation, police say they determined that the suspect, 21-year-old Demonte Swann, was responsible for the victim’s death. Swann was then arrested by JPD. He was charged with murder. This investigation is ongoing.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - New details into the incident on I-55 South Sunday, when a person stopped to help a car crash victim, and was later carjacked. Tyese Gaar was working for DoorDash early Sunday morning when she saw an accident on I-55 South. “I DoorDash, and while I was headed to pick up an order in Byram, while I was on 55, it all started with a guy who had come flying up behind me,” Gaar said.

On Tuesday, WLBT News learned that Eudora’s Mississippi Brasserie officially closed its doors on Memorial Day for good. The locally-owned restaurant was located in The District at Eastover, just off Interstate 55. The building previously housed Fine & Dandy. It opened in the fall of 2023.
