Key messages 1. We provided novel evidence for the oral–genitourinary axis and the systematic inflammatory network. 2. We discovered that aged individuals with poor oral health were more vulnerable to urolithiasis. 3. Our results cast new light on the pathogenesis of kidney stone formation and offer suggestions for accurate clinical prevention and treatment strategies against stone diseases.
