INTRODUCTION Soybean (Glycine max) is an important economic crop that provides 28.7% of vegetable oil and 70.7% of protein meal in the world. The demand for food will increase in the future as the global human population continues to grow (Bodirsky et al., 2015). Therefore, increasing yield is an important task in soybean breeding. Soybean yield is influenced by seed weight, which is usually positively associated with seed size (Hu et al., 2023a).
