1 INTRODUCTION Neurodegenerative dementias are characterized by abnormal aggregation of peptides in the cortex, progressive synaptopathology, and neuronal loss, culminating in brain atrophy and clinical symptoms in patients [1-4]. Following Alzheimer's disease (AD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) has been recognized to be the second most commonest neurodegenerative dementias, accounting for 10%–20% of all cases [5, 6].
