LocalOttawa Citizen: Over 155,000 public servants began striking on Wednesday, marking the largest federal work stoppage since 1991. Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada are demanding higher wages and better working conditions. Four semi-private spaces enclosed by black curtains attracted long lines of eager students who waited up to half and hour for their turns. On Feb. 1, Jessica Andrews and Lindsay Bortot from the Employment Centre introduced a new tool called “VMock” to students. VMock offers real-time feedback through the use of artificial intelligence, providing students with 24/7 access to personalized services. The tool leverages data science, machine learning, and natural language processing to give instant, personalized feedback on resumes based on global best practices. “VMock can assist you in writing your resume in several ways,” said Andrews.

This event brought people together to celebrate Canadian food and culture. Several participating chefs were among the top contestants in the 2022 regional competition. Ottawa’s chef Briana Kim of Alice Restaurant’s was thrilled to be named the winner of the evening event.
