This study shows that pneumonia during AECOPD correlates with significantly higher short-term and long-term mortality, longer hospital stay, higher need for ventilatory support and higher rate of ICU admission. The certainty of these findings was judged to be “low”, thereby suggesting that more studies with methodological rigor are needed to confirm these findings.
