Dunfermline took a giant step towards Championship safety with their 0-0 draw with Partick Thistle on Saturday. The stalemate, combined with defeat for Airdrie and Queen’s Park’s draw at Hamilton Accies, was enough to keep the Pars in seventh in the Championship table. It was not a spectacle of great beauty but it is the results that matter at this stage in a fraught season. Courier Sport was at East End Park to watch another crucial 90 minutes unfold.

Neil Lennon declared Dunfermline are ‘nearly there’ but ‘not celebrating yet’ in their battle against relegation after a goalless draw with Partick Thistle all but secured Championship safety. The Pars remain in seventh place and, thanks to Airdrie’s defeat at home to Morton, are six points ahead of the Diamonds with just two games remaining. A goal difference that is 14 better off means it would take an extraordinary turn of events for the Fifers to be caught.

Barry Robson has urged Raith Rovers to ignore Falkirk’s title aspirations and focus solely on their own play-off goals. The Bairns are seeking to get themselves over the line in the title race and confirm their promotion back to the Premiership for the first time in 15 years. They have been favourites for some time and have occupied a position at the summit that Raith would have been eyeing themselves at the start of the season.

Lewis Vaughan needs to find the net over the next three games to maintain an individual scoring record stretching back over a decade. But the fit-again striker is more intent on trying to help Raith Rovers achieve their collective goals. Despite all his injury horrors, Vaughan has scored in every season stretching back to 2013/14. Even in the campaigns curtailed by one of his four ACL knee injuries or his recoveries, the fans’ favourite still managed to get amongst the goals.

😟 Relegation worries 🥅 Striking problems persist 🗣️ 'Abysmal' officials ⬇️ Trying to make sense of a frustrating weekend for Dunfermline. ⬇️ https://t.co/kZBw1OJ1x0

Scrappy game at East End Park and a scrappy goal from Reghan Tumilty to give Hamilton a 1-0 lead at half-time in a huge relegation battle. Dunfermline need a big reaction in the second-half.
