The Indiana Fever weren't involved in any on-court scuffles following Tuesday night's skirmish with the Connecticut Sun. Officials also had a relatively smooth game amid scrutiny over how they've been calling fouls and allowing hacking among players. On Thursday versus the Golden State Valkyries, the Fever's struggles were of a basketball nature, resulting in an 83-75 defeat at San Francisco's Chase Center.

Thursday's game between the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays at Steinbrenner Field included a scary moment during the seventh inning that saw a player put on a stretcher and taken from the field on a cart. Two weeks into his major-league career, Jac Caglianone has his first home run with the Kansas City Royals. Caglianone, the Royals' top prospect before he was called up on June 3, took Texas Rangers reliever Jacob Latz deep in the second inning to give Kansas City a 2-0 lead. He hit a 95.5 mph fastball high out of the strike zone but down the middle, launching it into the home team's bullpen in right-center field at Globe Life Field. Getting the milestone baseball back likely wasn't a problem.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani became a two-way sensation again on Monday night, pitching in a major-league game for the first time since 2023. His first pitch was a 97.6 mph fastball low in the strike zone that Fernando Tatis Jr. fouled off. Ohtani got Tatis to swing and miss at a 98.3 mph fastball before the Padres right fielder hit an inside 99 mph pitch for a single. Tatis advanced to second on a wild pitch, which was clocked at 100.2 mph.
