KIJHL alum Reid and Chakrabarti keys to NCAA Spartans

Once foes in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL), Cam Reid (Kimberley Dynamiters) and Luke Chakrabarti (Osoyoos Coyotes/Creston Valley Thunder Cats) just completed their first season as teammates for the Vermont State Castleton Spartans in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 3. Reid finished his second season and has 29 points in 49 career games. In his first season with the Spartans, Reid was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Rookie of the Week.

The City of Kimberley is pleased to announce a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the underground water, sewer, and storm systems on the section of St. Mary’s Avenue, from Ross Street/Highway 95A to Wallinger Avenue. The project also includes replacing the retaining wall on Spokane Street, road reconstruction, and streetscape improvements such as sidewalk redevelopment, lighting, and signage enhancements.

The East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) is excited to announce the purchase of a new T1 Ventilator for the East Kootenay Health Region High Acuity Response Team (HART). This purchase was made possible by a $40,000 respiratory care grant from the TB Vets Charitable Foundation. HART is made up of Critical Care nurses and Respiratory Therapists is based out of EKRH.

James Hale, Elections Canada Media Relations Advisor for British Columbia, reported April 16, “Some Cranbrook-area residents may have received Voter Information Cards from Elections Canada with incorrect information about polling places.
