YORK COUNTY — On a typical weekday in downtown Fort Mill, parking can be hard to come by. Cars circle the town's few municipal lots and empty spots are quickly filled. Construction is underway on a new lot east of Main Street, but in the meantime, spots are limited. It's a sign of the change happening in one of two York County municipalities ranked among the fastest-growing towns and cities in South Carolina from July 2023 to July 2024, according to census data released May 15.
