We got home about 8 p.m. last night after a week in Portland, Oregon. We had a connecting flight to San Francisco, a 90-minute layover, and then boarded our flight to Honolulu. We took an Uber from the airport and arrived home at just before 8 p.m.The cats treated us to a few minutes of Zoomies before calming down and looking for dinner.

Back in May 1956, I posed for a photo in front of a walkway at Kahala Elementary School near my classroom. It was the end of my year in 3rd grade. I entered Kahala School in the second grade in 1954, the year the school opened, and my class graduated from the 6th grade in 1959, the year of Hawaii statehood. Many classmates went on to Punahou after finishing 6th grade at Kahala Elementary.
