Malabon City is rightfully proud of its fishing roots and heritage sites, but just as iconic is the pancit that bears the city’s name. It took center stage as the city attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of bowls of noodles last March 23, by cooking and lining up 6,549 bowls of Pancit Malabon. The attempt was successful, surpassing the previous record in China by 2,561 bowls.

While the Philippines is recognized as one of the places in Asia-Pacific where women have greater economic participation, there remains a significant gap in gender equality. In 2024, a study from the National Economic Development Authority estimated that 21.9 million women were working. There were about 8 million more men in the workforce.

There’s no denying that artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay in the modern workplace. Amid this rapid adoption, questions on AI ethics, responsible use and compliance with government regulations are not so often discussed. For instance, Ken Suarez, a product manager from Nueva Ecija, says that AI has helped him perform simple yet repetitive and time-consuming tasks. “It is supplementary to my knowledge and skills,” he tells the Inquirer.

When asked about a song he never gets tired of listening to, Guji Lorenzana admits that while it’s hard to pick one, a track that ranks high on his list is Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough.”“The energy in that track is just infectious,” Lorenzana tells the Inquirer in an email interview.
