South Simcoe Police cruiser - file photoA two-vehicle crash on Innisfil Beach Road near the South Simcoe Police North Divison, shortly after three Monday afternoon. Police say one of the vehicles rolled over onto its roof, coming to a stop on the road. The driver of that vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. OPP logo (file photo - OPP) A multi-vehicle collision that included an Ontario Provincial Police vehicle around 3 p.m. on Sunday resulted in the closure of Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte. The highway was closed in both directions for several hours between Line 14 and Line 12. Two people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing. South Simcoe Police say bylaw officers were conducting parking enforcement that afternoon and cautioned drivers parked in no-stopping areas near a crosswalk by a school entrance that they needed to move. When the officers returned to the area and some vehicles remained, they began to issue tickets.

A 64-year-old North York man was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Midland. Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, emergency responders found the man lying on the side of Highway 12 between Brebeuf Road and Highway 93 in Midland. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed that section of the highway for several hours for investigation purposes.
