Data acquisitionOur sample comprises thirteen human otic capsules from eleven adult individuals (Supplementary Table 1). Provenance and sex for this sample is unknown. μCT of temporal bones stained with osmium tetroxide shows, at high resolution, both bony and membranous structures was therefore chosen as our imaging modality19,59. This study does not include any living human participants.
