    British Airways parent International Airlines Group is “further ahead” in its use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) than expected, according to the group’s sustainable fuels and carbon manager Leigh Hudson.     A major law firm specialising in personal injury has launched a growing number of group action holiday sickness claims against leading UK tour operators following a period of vastly reduced gastric illness claims since a peak in 2016-17. Irwin Mitchell announced the launch of a High Court action against Jet2holidays last week, acting on behalf of 100 UK holidaymakers “struck down with serious illness” at a resort in Turkey.

    The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed the number of Atol holders stands at 1,616 following the March licence renewal process, a small decline from the 1,630 licensed 12 months ago. The CAA renewed 611 licenses from April 1 out of the 674 Atols due to expire at the end of March, with a further 27 still in the application process or yet to meet the licensing conditions. That was down from 615 renewals out of 668 Atols due to expire a year ago.
