The Red Devils tasted defeat for the first time under Amorim in midweek as they were beaten by Arsenal. There will have been hopes for a quick turnaround against a Forest side that had been struggling for form. But Nottingham Forest secured their first league win at Old Trafford since 1994, moving up to fifth in the table.

Saturday got off to the delayed start with the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park postponed due to the weather. It meant that a five-game matchday was cut to four. And three of those were at 3pm.

That’s 70 teams in action. In the Europa League, both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were representing England. Rangers were Scotland’s representatives.
