Season's greetings all!As the cold weather settles in, I've been reflecting on the many City services that help us make it through the winter. There are a number of resources that I wanted to take the time to highlight. Earlier this year, City Council approved funding for an Assisted Snow Removal program. If you are a senior on low income or have a disability or mobility challenge, you can apply for help clearing your sidewalks. For more information, please visit edmonton.ca or contact my office.

Back in September I began filming a series of short videos to share on social media. The videos feature a variety of local residents, business owners, and other stakeholders talking about the importance of Boyle McCauley News and why people should support the community newspaper in the quest to be sustainable and keep publishing. One statement that kept coming up over and over again was how the paper is a connector. It connects people with places, events, and each other.

On July 1, 2023, we celebrated Canada’s 156th birthday, with fireworks, gatherings, and concerts held here in Edmonton to recognize the event. I recalled bits and pieces of Canada’s Centennial in 1967.

The moment arrived. A wild Tasmanian wombat again within grasp. But in the end she chose respect, and after 15 years was at peace. I could not have been prouder. https://t.co/MheTYhcwO5

So, my wife and I were conducting a Jan 1 review of our 20-yr relationship & I asked if there was anything abt me that made her angry, & she said yes actually, she was still mad at me for preventing her from patting a wild wombat we encountered on a hike in Tasmania 12 years ago https://t.co/FYqIvFxvM9
