One of the officials, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity to discuss the assessment, said Iran's retaliatory attack could happen within the next day or two.

When it took office, Trump admin had ordered DOD and DHS to recommend whether actions, including the Insurrection Act of 1807, would be needed to deal with migrants. In April, U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth recommended that at the time, the Insurrection Act was not needed.
