The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has recently withdrawn a proposal by the Dalmia Foundation to host cultural events at the historic Humayun’s Tomb. An official from ASI’s Delhi circle informed Patriot that the decision followed objections from multiple stakeholders. “The decision was prompted by strong opposition from the Aga Khan Foundation and residents of Nizamuddin East, who argued that such activities were inappropriate for a site that houses over 150 graves,” the official explained.

In view of Republic Day celebrations, the historic Red Fort in Delhi will remain closed to visitors and the public for twelve days, from January 20 to 31, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) announced on Tuesday. In a communique, the ASI Delhi Circle stated that it had received an order (F.38/34/2018-M-2829) dated December 13, 2024, from the Director (Monument-II).
