Paddy Iyamu, the Edo State Commissioner for Education said the government has commenced the issuances of letters to 8,476 promoted teachers in the public schools. Iyamu, who disclosed this during an interview newsmen in Benin City, said the processes for the promotion of the teachers started in February 2025 which now climaxed in the issuances of letters to the affected teachers. He noted that the promotion was to motivate the teachers for optimal performance.

The parley was attended by the management of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO) led by Amen Odigie, managing director of the agency, and that of the Dangote Cement Company led by Mohammed Ismaeel, Plant director of the company.

The Edo State Government said it had registered over 9000 Certificates of Occupancy ( C of O) between February and April 17, 2025 in the State. Tony Ikpasaja, Managing Director of Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS), stated this when the Executive of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), paid him a courtesy visit in his Office in Benin City.

Osamagbe Jegede, a student of Baptist High School, Benin City has emerged the overall winner in the 2025 Advanced Girls in Engineering, Mathematics, and Science (AGEMS) competition after defeating about 180 other students. The competition organised by the Niger Delta Development Commission’s (NDDC) for the nine NDDC states was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to mark the celebration of the 2025 International Women’s Day.
