A statement by Chris Nehikhare, Publicity Secretary, PDP Caretaker Committee in the state described Governor Monday Okpebholo’s promise as not only comical but an outright insult to the intelligence of Edo people.

The Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) said it screened no fewer than 240 persons for various cancers in the State between January and April 2025. History was made in the Okada community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, as the community revived the abandoned age-long tradition of initiation of sons into the Elders Council (Edion). The tradition, which has been abandoned for the past 30 years, was revived with the initiation of 54 sons of the community into the Elders Council. Among the participants were the twelve sons of Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Benin-based billionaire and the revered Esama of the Benin Kingdom.

Imasuen distributed the cashew seedlings to members of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in his Senatorial district in Benin on Tuesday.
